The primary alloys used in die casting include lead, tin, copper, zinc, aluminum, and magnesium. Our die casting factory mostly casts the alloy materials aluminum, Zamak, and magnesium. We are able to create unique die-casting alloy materials according to client specifications. The benefits of aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloy are summarized as follows:
Aluminum alloys: high strength-to-weight ratio, highly corrosion-resistant, excellent thermal conductivity, and recyclable; they are good for outdoor and marine applications. Common materials used in die casting include ADC12/A383, ADC 10/A10/A380, AlSi7Mg, and A365.
Zinc: Compared to other metal alloys, Zamak is the easiest metal to cast; it has high ductility, high impact strength, and an easy-to-do plating surface finish. Zamak is typically used for small parts due to its high material cost and density, and its die lifetime is longer than that of an aluminum die casting mold.
Magnesium: The mineral magnesium is the lightest alloy in the metal die casting industry, the easiest metal to manufacture, and has an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.
